I first became interested in photography in high school.  I started with a Fujica Compact Deluxe 35mm film rangefinder and later upgraded to a Canon AE-1 35 mm film SLR camera.  I made a black and white darkroom in my parents' basement had a lot of fun snapping photos of the environment around me and learning the basics of photography.

Many years later, I found the old AE-1 sitting in a nightstand and decided to sell it on Craigslist.  But finding that camera reminded me of the enjoyment that I used to get from photography.   I decided to rediscover photography as a hobby and purchased a Canon T2i Digital SLR.  I currently use the Canon R5 and 5D Mark III.

I enjoy exploring nature and the built world, recording images of interesting objects, both inanimate and animate.  The majority of my recent experience has been spent seeking-out unusual birds and photographing them in their natural surroundings.  Bird photos are most rewarding to me, and dominate my current portfolio.
